In support of Lehigh’s Sustainability Strategic Plan 2030, Purchasing Services has revised and strengthened the existing Sustainable Purchasing Policy. The goal of this policy is to ensure environmental and social considerations are included, along with the price, availability, and performance, as criteria that we use to make purchasing decisions. Changes to the policy include, but are not limited to establishing mandatory requirements in specific spend category areas, updated product certifications, linking to related product and service standards, and the development of a sustainability questionnaire to help us assess how current and potential vendors are addressing sustainability initiatives.
